Lepidopleurus cajetanus (Poli, 1791) This
elongated chiton is more than twice as long as it is wide. It is about
one inch in length. The valves and narrow girdle are dirty white to
light ochre in color. The lateral areas are highly elevated and marked
with concentric ridges. The central areas have longitudinal chains of
granules. Illustrated
specimen is from the Kay Gudnason-G & L Burghardt Collection and was
collected in the Canary Islands.
