Callochiton
dentatus (Spengler, 1797)
This flat, broad-shaped chiton has dark colored valves. The valve
scuplture is minutely decussate and there are numerous 'eye dots'
covering the valves. The dark colored girdle is clothed with
shuttle-shaped or broadly needle-shaped scales, which often are
detached. (Syn: Callochiton castaneus (Wood, 1815)
