Chiton nigrovirescens de
Blainville, 1825
This smallish black chiton is elliptical, arched and strongly beaked.
The lateral areas are decorated with shallow ray-riblets. The central
area indistinctly, longitudinally grooved. The girdle is banded and
covered with large, solid, opaque, imbricating scales.
Illustrated specimen is from the Burghardt Collection and was collected
by Alan Seccombe at Kommetjie, Atlantic Cape Coast, South Africa
